assistant management accountant (MARKETING)
ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a key role in the day to day financial operations of Beavertown Brewery. The Assistant Management Accountant will support the FP&A Manager with month end reporting, and the maintenance of significant business elements. This role will provide a development opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to progress.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management Accounts: Ownership of marketing cost lines for Beavertown Management Accounts to trial balance; including accruals, prepayments and adjustments
- Sales & Margin: Responsible for recognising revenue and COGS for Beavertown’s E-Commerce business and providing analysis to support decision making
- Business decision support: Support the marketing function with business case build and analysis. Work with the FP&A Manager to evaluate and comment on any new marketing opportunities
- Cost analysis: Working with the FP&A Manager to track, analyse and review marketing actuals v budget and LE for the MA pack and weekly Marketing Dashboard
- Planning: Support with marketing and back offices functions to produce short term, medium term and long term projections (Budget, LE, 3YP)
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations: collated, reviewed and actioned prior to submission to Finance Controller
- Cost centre reviews: Preparing monthly departmental cost reports for the Marketing teams (E-Commerce, Marketing, Brand, Creative).
- Cost centre reviews: Preparing monthly departmental cost reports for the Management Overheads (IT, Finance, MD, People).
- Ad-Hoc duties as required
- Collated, reviewed and actioned prior to submission to Head of Finance.
- Supporting the preparation of reports for the sales channels and ensuring accuracy of data.
- Preparing detailed reporting on channel and customer specific profitability.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly logical approach, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail and keen to make improvements
- Committed team player, used to working flexibly to achieve business goals.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Qualified to at least AAT level 4/part qualified ACCA/CIMA and looking to progress.
