Neck Oil is the OG. It’s a classic Beavertown beer. And a staple session IPA. It might even have been your introduction to the Beavertown universe. Most people have seen, drunk, or heard about Neck Oil.
The name Neck Oil comes from our founder Logan fondly remembering his grandad stating he was off down the pub to 'oil his neck' with a pint.
Neck Oil is our OG session IPA. What’s a session IPA? We’re glad you asked. IPA beer tends to be fairly strong – both in flavour and alcohol content. So the Brits invented session IPAs – designed to be lower in alcohol content.
Neck Oil is a great beer to pair with dinner. It has a really great flavour that goes with basically anything and the lower alcohol means you can easily enjoy it with your meal. But Neck Oil goes especially well with greasy food – think burgers, fries, or fried chicken. The salt and fat tone down the bitterness and bring the malt flavours to the top.
