Tumbler Glasses FAQs

A tumbler glass is a glass that tumbles out of your hand, spilling your liquid gold and watching in evil delight as you make a fool of yourself trying to catch it - like a game. No, that's not true. That would be awful. Why would anyone want a tumbler glass if that's what it did? A tumbler glass is actually just a very popular type of drinking glass with straight sides that can perfectly hold a can of your favourite Beavertown beer. Nothing sinister about it.

Pint glasses are bigger. A tumbler glass is smaller. Next question, please! Okay, fine, we'll give you more details. Pint glasses hold around 570 ml, which is great if you want to enjoy even more of your favourite Beavertown beer. A beer tumbler holds 330ml - exactly the same amount that's in the can, so a perfect size for quickly pouring out a drink. While the shape and size of your beer glass can affect how the beer tastes, luckily, all of our pint glasses and beer tumblers are specifically designed to make drinking Beavertown beers the best experience ever.

We're not gonna lie; it's a bit of a mystery why a beer tumbler is called a tumbler. There are lots of different rumours out there. The most popular theory, though, is that in the 15th century, the design of a tumbler glass featured a rounded or pointed bottom, meaning it couldn't be set down without 'tumbling' over, so pub patrons were only able to guzzle down their drinks, rather than sip and savour (nightmare).

Despite the name, a beer tumbler isn't just for beer. You can drink anything out of it. Water, juice, a glass of milk before bed, you name it. But there's no denying that beer tastes great out of a tumbler. And there's just something extra special about drinking a Beavertown beer out of a Beavertown tumbler. Maybe it's because of the funky design. Maybe it's because of the perfect size. Or maybe, just maybe, it's because they have the magical ability to open up your senses (thanks to the straight edges) so you can fully appreciate the taste and aromas.

Tumbler glasses are not to be confused with travel tumblers. Is the word 'tumbler' starting to not sound like a real word to anyone else? The glass won't keep your beer cold for hours on end unless you stick some ice in it or pop it in the fridge before pouring the beer for a perfectly chilled beverage. However, travel tumblers are specially insulated to keep cold drinks cold - we don't have any of those, though. Sorry.

Have you not been paying attention?! Our tumblers are awesome. Not only do they look cool with plenty of different designs, like our classic Psychedelic Skulls or our beer-specific themed patterns, but they're also perfectly sized to hold a full can of Beavertown beer and designed to enhance the flavours. All of our beer glasses are amazing and will look their very best when sitting in your cupboards.
