How to Style a Hoodie: 9 Hoodie Outfit Ideas

An essential part of our weekend (and weekday, tbh) uniform, there’s nothing quite like chucking on a comfy hoodie. While hoodies started off as just something to lounge or work out in, it turns out that they are way more versatile than we originally thought. And can even be dressed up if you know what you’re doing. Do we know what we’re doing? You’re about to find out.

And the best part (other than Beavertown hoodies being 100% organic cotton)? All our hoodies are unisex. So you don’t have to keep stealing your boyfriend’s (or have yours stolen).

1. Keep It Casual with Jeans and a Hoodie

Best for: Walks with the dog or afternoons down the pub.

Is there a more classic pairing than jeans and a hoodie? Well, maybe joggers and a hoodie. But otherwise, no. It’s the perfect mix of comfy and ready-to-leave-the-house if you’re averse to the idea of going out in a tracksuit. Grab a Shroom Garden Hoodie for forest walks, experiencing nature in a whole new way, or, you know, just popping to the shops.

2. Get Cosy with a Matching Hoodie and Joggers

Best for: Heading to the gym or lazy days at home.

Lazy bones. Active bones. Pile of bones. However you’re arranging your bones, be it sporting or sedentary, our Beavertown skull dog joggers are the way to go. Mix and match with a hoodie for the ultimate gym outfit. Or stay at home and lounge around – we’re not the boss of you.

3. Do Hot Girl Stuff in a Hoodie and Bike Shorts

Best for: Hot girl walks

Whether strolling along the boardwalk or power walking to the boarding gate, a hoodie and bike shorts just work together. Go matchy-matchy with the colours (also known as monochrome – look at us knowing fashion things) or mix and match colours and patterns. Don’t forget the high ponytail, sunnies, and baseball cap to complete the look.

4. Chuck a Jacket over your Hoodie

Best for: Running errands or just looking like you’ve got your life together

Sometimes, you just need to look a bit more put together—and not have to give up the cosy. We get it. Chuck a jacket or shacket over a hoodie with jeans for some added warmth and a bit of that “I have my life together” vibe (even if you’re faking it).

5. Casual sophistication: Hoodie & Long Coat

Best for: Looking chicly put together (even when your sunglasses are hiding yesterday’s late night).

For when you don’t want others to think you put in effort while still putting in some effort but not looking like you put in too much effort (are you following?). A real “i just woke up like this” moment. Bonus points if you stroll into your meeting 5 minutes late with a latte in hand.

6. Layer up in a Hoodie & Puffer Vest

Best for: Unseasonably cold beer gardens

It doesn’t matter if it’s Easter weekend or the middle of August, those pub gardens are almost guaranteed to be cold. It’s Britain, what do you expect? Stick on a hoodie (can we interest you in our Essential Skulls hoodie?) and puffer vest for extra warmth during those Bank Holiday brews. Just make sure you untuck the hood or you’ll look like a fool.

7. Match made in Beer Gardens – Hoodie & Baseball Caps

Best for: Everyday. Everywhere. Everywhen.

Hoodies and baseball caps go together like Beavertown and sunny afternoons. The combo just makes sense. And with our Li’l Gamma Man cord cap you’ll be the coolest cat in the beer garden. Or at the beach. Or your mate’s balcony. Wherever.

8. Crossbody Bag + Hoodie

Best for: Festivals, dog walks, and any other kind of rainy British weather.

Good music, terrible toilets, and soggy socks. All part of the great British Festival. You might not care too much about your socks getting soggy (weirdo), but you definitely want to keep you and your valuables dry. Sling a Beavertown crossbody bag over your hoodie to keep all your bits safe and dry. And it fits everything – phone, wallet, keys, extra Beavertown can, some dry socks, and the kitchen sink*.

* We cannot confirm a kitchen sink will actually fit in our crossbody bag.

9. The feminine touch: Hoodie & a Skirt

Best for: lookin’ cute while feeling cosy.

Pairing a hoodie with a skirt? No, we’re not crazy. Grab your favourite skirt (mini, maxi, bodycon or denim–whatever you’ve got) and pair it with our Oversized Skull Hoodie. You’ll look cute and stylish. All while staying cosy. Add a pair of chunky trainers and oversized accessories for extra cool points.

As you can tell, we’re big fans of hoodies with everything. And when in doubt, you just style your hoodie by pairing it with your favourite can of Beavertown. Grab your fave beer and take that refreshing first sip. That’s all the style you need.
